What real students say:

‘It saves you time and it saves you money’

Matthew Hill completed the middle college in 2016. He transferred 56 SC4 credits to Central Michigan University, where he is on track to earn his bachelor’s degree in finance after 2-1/2 years at CMU, thanks to the middle college. He also found himself eligible for some of the bigger scholarships available to CMU freshman, and earned the Prestige Scholarship Award.

"I felt like I was more prepared than somebody that wouldn’t have done the Middle College. I definitely would recommend the middle college, because it saves you time and it saves you money. It’s also just another experience to have as opposed to just going to high school and then jumping into college. It’s a different dynamic to have high school and college at the same time. You get to meet a lot more people that way.”

‘You are like a regular college student’

Will Kriewall attended the middle college in grades 11 and 12 and entered Michigan State University in the fall of 2015. He is in the College of Agriculture, majoring in Crop and Soil Science.

"The middle college was a great choice for me. I played hockey, lacrosse and soccer in high school, and had no problem fitting my college classes into my schedule. I liked my classes at SC4 because you are like a regular college student. They have plenty of support if you need it, but they don’t hold your hand. You have to do the work. MSU seemed like no big deal after that.”

‘Smartest decision I could have made’

Makenzie Klein completed the middle college and entered Central Michigan University in the fall of 2015. She is on track to graduate this December with dual degrees in Accounting, and Law and Economics.

"I am graduating from college in 3.5 years with a double major, while saving money from getting my associates degree before transferring. Whenever someone asks about my experience and if they should do it, I can honestly say it was one of the smartest decisions I could have made in my college career, and I would highly recommend the Middle College to anyone.”
